Alex Lynn joins G-Drive for 2017 WEC campaign

G-Drive Racing has confirmed that Alex Lynn will take its final full-season seat for the FIA World Endurance Championship season.

G-Drive Racing has confirmed that Alex Lynn will take its final full-season seat for the FIA World Endurance Championship season, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

2014 GP3 Series champion and ex-Williams Formula 1 development driver Lynn walked away from junior single-seaters at the end of 2016 after spending two seasons in GP2. Lynn raced for Manor in three WEC rounds last year and secured a reserve role with DS Virgin Racing in Formula E.

Lynn will also race with Wayne Taylor Racing at select rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this year, as well as driving for BMW at the N?rburgring 24 Hours.

Completing a busy schedule for this year, Lynn has now announced that he would be linking up with G-Drive in the WEC for 2017, committing to a full-season campaign in the #26 ORECA 07 LMP2 car alongside Roman Rusinov and Pierre Thiriet.

Lynn previously indicated that he was working on a WEC deal to complement his other racing duties, and enjoyed a three-day test with G-Drive last week prior to his confirmation in the seat.

Lynn will make his first public appearance with G-Drive at the WEC pre-season 'Prologue' test at Monza at the beginning of April, with the opening round of the year taking place at Silverstone on April 16.
