Glenn Turnor has been appointed commercial director of Dick Johnson's V8 Supercar team, Jim Beam Racing.

In joining Jim Beam Racing Turnor will play an 'integral role in the overall financial management of the team as well as managing its sponsors, overseeing its marketing and also its merchandising department'.

After a recent restructure and new co-owner Charlie Schwerkolt coming on board, Jim Beam Racing has enjoyed renewed stability and success and expects Turnor to add another dimension to the longest established motor racing team in Australia.

"Glenn's appointment is recognition of the fact Jim Beam Racing is focussing on all aspects of sustained success both on and off the track, and to do that we need someone of Glenn's expertise to deliver a well rounded package," explained Charlie Schwerkolt.

"Our main focus is on how we can win a V8 Supercar Championship, but we also need to ensure everything is in place to succeed off the track and ensure the team is financially viable so I am thrilled Glenn has come on board."

A fully qualified litigation lawyer, Turnor crosses from V8 Supercars Australia where he has worked as V8SA General Counsel for the previous two and a half years.

"Joining Jim Beam Racing feels like a natural progression for me and I am looking forward to ensuring the team is in a solid position off the track so as the results can take care of themselves on the track," explained Turnor.

"To become part of such a well established V8 Supercar team is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am looking forward to working with everyone at Jim Beam Racing."
