It may be considered one of the trickier circuits on the British Superbike Championship calendar to master but ex-MotoGP rider Scott Redding is already well up to speed at Knockhill after topping second free practice.
Only hours after making his debut at the compact, undulating Scottish venue, Redding swept to the top of the timesheets aboard the Be Wiser PBM Ducati to end the day quickest by just under a tenth from Danny Buchan, who produced a brace of second places as the closest rival to the dominant Ducatis.
The FS-3 Kawasaki rider split the Be Wiser V4s with Josh Brookes in third, the factory pairing faring better than fellow Panigale rider and BSB championship leader Tommy Bridewell, who was only 14th quickest albeit only seven tenths shy of the top spot.
Keith Farmer ended his day strongly in fourth place for Tyco Suzuki, while OMG Racing’s Luke Mossey was the best of the Suzuki contingent in fifth place. Dan Linfoot completed the top six, ahead of Bradley Ray, the Buildbase Suzuki rider having his best start to a BSB weekend so far this season.
Jason O’Halloran and Tarran Mackenzie filled eighth and tenth aboard their respective McAMS Yamahas, the pair split by Christian Iddon.
