After starting from the third row in race one, Bradley Ray got race two underway from pole position, while Rory Skinner and Kyle Ryde made up the front row.
To no surprise Ray kept the lead after getting another stunning launch. The Yamaha rider wasn’t alone in making a good start as team-mate Ryde remained second. Skinner lost third to his team-mate Lee Jackson, however, the Scot wasted no time in pressuring the more experienced Jackson.

As he did in race one, Ray set another new lap record on lap two as he began to edge clear of Ryde.
There were back-to-back crashes on lap three as Andrew Irwin crashed before Connor Cummings went down further on in the lap.
On the same lap three, Ray clocked another new lap record as he continued to churn out 1m 32.6s times. There was drama on lap five as Tommy Bridewell, a rider who showed incredible late pace in race one, crashed at the final corner after attempting to make a move on Skinner.
Despite Ray’s best efforts to drop Ryde and Jackson, the pair managed to cling onto the leader as mid-race distance approached.
Another crash then occurred on lap eight as Luke Mossey suffered a heavy fall in sector four. It’s an accident that brought out the Safety Car for the second time in as many rounds.
The Safety Car returned to pit lane after two laps as Ray made a good restart to keep the lead ahead of Ryde. Peter Hickman was the big loser from the restarted race as he dropped from sixth to eighth.
After lining-up second place for several laps, Jackson made a lovely switchback move on Ryde as the Yamaha man came under intense pressure from Skinner and a much improved Leon Haslam.
Instead of going forward Skinner was relegated to fifth after Haslam produced a great move at turn one. Haslam then attempted to take third off Ryde at the final corner, however, the former WorldSBK rider ran slightly wide at the final corner.
Not to be denied, Haslam did make the overtake stick on the final lap as Ryde was visibly struggling.

After topping day-one with a new lap record, Ray converted a disappointing P7 in qualifying into a dominant victory.
Ray gained four places on the opening lap before producing a stunning double overtake on Skinner and Ryde at turn one to begin lap two.
From that point on Ray started to pull clear as he built a lead of over two seconds to the Kawasaki rider.
A late red flag cost the fast charging Tommy Bridewell a potential podium, after the Ducati rider went from P16 to sixth. Skinner and Ryde held on for their third podium finishes in four races, while Josh Brookes enjoyed a much needed return to form with fourth.
