ROKiT MB Motorsport's Jake Hill sent his BMW 330e M Sport to the top of the timesheets after setting the pace ahead of defending champion Ash Sutton during the second British Touring Car Championship free practice at Thruxton.

The West Surrey Racing driver posted a 1'15.722s lap around the Hampshire to circuit, which was good enough to beat NAPA Racing's Sutton by 0.174s by the end of the session.

A late red flag with two-minutes to go denied anyone the opportunity to knock Hill from the top-spot, meaning the lap-times were marginally slower than Josh Cook's quickest effort from the morning session.

Rich Energy BTC Racing's Cook produced another sequence of consistently fast laps as he set the third fastest time ahead of fellow Honda runner Dan Rowbottom in fourth.

EXCELR8 Hyundai's Dan Lloyd made a late move up the order to fifth prior to the late red-flag, with the sister NAPA Racing Ford Focus ending the session in sixth.

Three-time champion Gordon Shedden was seventh fastest for the Team Dynamics Honda squad ahead of his fellow series veterans Colin Turkington and Jason Plato in eighth and ninth.

Hyundai runner Tom Chilton completed the top-ten order in tenth.
