The 25-year old currently sits tenth in the early championship reckoning, 24-points off series leader Josh Cook.
"A difficult weekend, just because we had a lot to learn in a short space of time. All the testing in the world won’t prepare you for a race weekend. It’ll only prepare you for how a car feels," Ingram told Crash.net.
"We know we’ve got a bit of work to do but we know where we need to improve it, and what we need to do to improve.
"I think we’re in quite a strong place now we’ve got this first weekend out of the way. We can go back to base, trawl through everything we’ve got and look at we’re we need to improve."
With Donington Park next up in just over two-weeks’ time, Ingram believes the Corolla should excel around the former Grand Prix venue.
"I do think we’ve had a very strong weekend and I’m excited to get on with the rest of the season. Now we’ve got this first hurdle out of the way we can concentrate on performance," Ingram continued.
"Race two showed that we’ve got good pace and the car is in a good place. So it’s a matter of trying to find what worked with and what didn’t work with the rest of races.
"We’re going to Donington with no weight at a circuit I really like and a circuit that I think will really suit the Corolla. I think it will be a great circuit for it and we’ll be really strong there."
