Jordan leads Sutton in opening practice

BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan leads the times ahead of Subaru's Ashley Sutton following the opening British Touring Car Championship practice session of the weekend at Croft.

Coming off the back of a double victory last time out at Thruxton, Jordan was fast out of the blocks to maintain his form with the fastest time of the session on the newly resurfaced circuit.

Thanks to the resurfacing of the Croft circuit, Jordan's quickest lap proved to be over a second faster than Colin Turkington's long standing pole position record set during the 2014 season.

Jordan's 1'22.039s was 0.085s quicker than both Sutton and the Honda Civic Type R of Sam Tordoff, while Turkington and Tom Oliphant followed up a further 0.2s behind to complete the top-five order in fourth and fifth.

Joint championship leader Rory Butcher was sixth fastest aboard his AmD Honda Civic Type R ahead of Honda duo Matt Neal and Chris Smiley in seventh and eighth.

Tom Ingram set the ninth quickest time on the Toyota Corolla's Croft debut, while Dan Cammish rounded out the top-ten order in tenth.

Elsewhere, Power Maxed Racing duo Rob Collard and Jason Plato completed the 40-minute running with the 13th and 15th fastest times, respectively.
