Ingram beats Cammish to pole by 0.002s!

Tom Ingram gets his first British Touring Car Championship pole position with the Toyota Corolla after beating Honda's Dan Cammish by just 0.002s in qualifying at Snetterton.

Ingram denied Cammish the perfect Saturday clean sweep during what proved to be a record breaking qualifying after the Team Toyota GB driver obliterated the existing pole position record by over 0.4s.

Cammish was the first driver to break the existing qualifying lap record after setting a series of hot laps early on, which saw the Honda driver sit at the timesheets with a third of the session to go.

However, following a brief red flag period, Ingram made his move during the final third of the 30 minute shootout to place his Team Toyota GB Corolla at the top of the pile with a 1'54.737s lap.

Cammish came perilously close to dethroning Ingram at the top of the timesheets but ultimately came up just 0.002s short of the Toyota Corolla.

Such was the pace of qualifying, all of the top-three runners dipped under Jack Goff's 2018 pole record, with Tom Chilton just missing out on the target by 0.013s in fourth position.

Despite struggling through practice, defending champion and points leader Colin Turkington produced a sensational lap on maximum ballast to qualify his BMW 330i M Sport in fifth position alongside two-time champion Jason Plato in sixth.

BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew Jordan was seventh fastest and shares the fourth row with factory Honda driver Matt Neal in eighth.

Adam Morgan and Rob Collard complete the remainder of the top-ten grid order for race one in ninth and tenth.
