2024 F1 Miami Grand Prix - Race Day - As it happened

On Lap 27, Piastri and Sainz come into the pit lane for hard tyres.

He's consistently the fastest driver out on track. He's cut Sainz's gap down to 1.8s.

Piastri, Sainz, Norris, Verstappen, Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell, Perez, Tsunoda and Zhou.

Norris puts in another fastest lap of the race.

Verstappen comes into the pit lane. He's put on the hards and rejoins in fourth. 

"Yeah I hit the cone at Turn 15, check the front wing," Verstappen reports 

He sets another fastest lap of the race to reduce the gap to Sainz down to 4.1s.

Leclerc comes into the pit lane as he looks to undercut Piastri for second. 

With Perez struggling for pace, Red Bull call him in which frees up Norris.

Leclerc sets the fastest lap of the race - a 1m32.689s for the Ferrari driver. He's running 0.6s behind Piastri currently. 

Verstappen, Piastri, Leclerc, Sainz, Perez, Norris, Hamilton, Russell, Tsunoda, Ocon.

Norris is now in DRS range of Perez for fifth. 

Albon, Stroll, Sargeant and Bottas have all come into the pits for hard tyres.

Hulkenberg is also in as well.

Hamilton gets the job done into Turn 11 with the use of DRS. He's up to seventh.

Hamilton remains stuck behind Hulkenberg in the battle for seventh. They're now running 6.9s behind Norris.

Hamilton gets past Hulkenberg into Turn 11 with the use of DRS but throws it away into the final corner by locking up.

Verstappen is 2.2s clear of Piastri at the front.

Leclerc, Sainz, Perez, Norris, Hamilton, Hulkenberg, Russell and Tsunoda round out the top 10.

Perez has been noted by the stewards for a "false start".

Piastri into second! Outstanding pace from the McLaren driver as he gets by into Turn 17 for second.

Impressive early pace from Piastri, who is currently running in DRS range of Leclerc ahead.

Verstappen, Leclerc, Piastri, Sainz, Perez, Norris, Hulkenberg, Hamilton, Tsunoda, Russell, Stroll, Gasly, Alonso, Ocon, Albon, Sargeant, Zhou, Magnussen, Bottas and Ricciardo.

Verstappen maintains his lead into Turn 1 but Leclerc had a sluggish start.

Leclerc initially bogged down allowing Sainz to get ahead off the line. Perez then sent it into Turn 1, nearly clattering into the cars ahead. 

Verstappen leads the pack away for the formation lap in Miami.
