REVEALED: Post-qualifying F1 car weights in Monza

The post-qualifying fuel weights ahead of the Italian Grand Prix this weekend suggest that Heikki Kovalainen could be in the best position to win Sunday's thirteenth round in the 2009 FIA F1 World Championship.

Kovalainen will start from fourth on the grid in his McLaren-Mercedes and the Finn was the third heaviest runner during the top-ten shoot-out, carrying a massive 29.5kg more fuel than pole sitter, Lewis Hamilton, in the sister MP4-24.

The Brawn Grand Prix cars of Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button also opted for a lot of fuel. Indeed they were the heaviest with Barrichello carrying 688.5 kg and Button just slightly less, 687 kg. However while they will start in fifth and sixth on the grid, unlike Kovalainen, they don't have KERS at their disposal.

Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber meanwhile were the fourth and fifth heaviest in Q3, but they will line-up further back than the Brawns, right at the bottom of the top ten.

Force India's Adrian Sutil was not unsurprisingly, given he will start second, one of the lightest runners (655kg) - 1.5 kg more than Hamilton, with Kimi Raikkonen next up on 662 kg. Raikkonen will start third.

The complete list of the post-qualifying car weights, from heaviest to lightest, is as follows (their actual starting position is in brackets at the end):
