Scuderia Ferrari has confirmed further details for the launch of its 2020 Formula 1 car on February 11.
Ferrari announced last month it would be unveiling its 2020 car on February 11, but communicated further information on Tuesday, including the location for the launch.
The 2020 car will be presented to the world at the Romolo Valli Municipal Theatre in Reggio Emilia. It is one of Italy’s most famous theatres, and will play host to drivers Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel, team boss Mattia Binotto, plus other figures from the Ferrari team when they take the covers off the new car.
“We have chosen Reggio Emilia, because 223 years ago, this city was where the tricolour was born and later adopted as the flag of unified Italy,” Ferrari’s announcement reads.
“The Valli Theatre is therefore the perfect setting to reveal Scuderia Ferrari’s latest car.”
The presentation will be also be live-streamed on the Scuderia Ferrari website and Facebook page, starting at 6:30pm CET (5:30pm GMT), and is set to continue until 7:15pm. Highlights will then follow on Instagram and Twitter.
Ferrari is yet to confirm any further details about the new car, which is codenamed 'Project 671'.
The first official on-track running for the new car will come at the start of pre-season testing in Barcelona on February 19, but Ferrari has traditionally completed a filming day run prior to this to ensure all systems are working as anticipated.
Ferrari’s new car will then be in race trim for the first time at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on March 15.
