Having aired its first season in 2019, Netflix has produced a yearly 10-episode series documenting the events of the season prior.

‘Drive to Survive’ has been met with overwhelming positivity for the impact it has had in attracting new fans, from the United States especially.

The 2021 season has been one to remember with the title battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen looking set to go down to the wire.

For season one, Mercedes and Ferrari weren't involved in the series, while for seasons two and three, Hamilton won the drivers' title with several races in hand ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas so there wasn't any focus on the battle at the front.

The emergence of Lando Norris, Bottas and George Russell’s collision at Imola, the events of Silverstone between the two title protagonists, and Esteban Ocon’s maiden win, should make season four the best so far.

The series is once again produced by Box to Box films, with dedicated camera crews following certain teams and drivers around at each grand prix.

Following the success of ‘Drive to Survive’, Netflix is releasing a documentary focusing on seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, which will debut next month.

Similarly, it is also producing a fictional drama about Ayrton Senna, while there are plans for another documentary about former F1 CEO and supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
