The Pit Stop: Who gets the Red Bull F1 seat for 2021? Hulkenberg vs. Perez

Who will drive alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull in 2021 is one of the biggest questions remaining as we head into the final few races of the 2020 Formula 1 season.

Albon is currently battling to prove to Red Bull that he deserves to retain his seat for next year as the team continues to weigh up whether to stick with the Thai racer or look outside its talent pool and replace him with a more experienced pair of hands - such as free agents Nico Hulkenberg or Sergio Perez.

With only four races remaining in the 2020 campaign, the enormous pressure on Albon’s shoulders is only increasing.

Red Bull hoped Albon would “claim” his place within the team with some strong performances at the last two rounds in Portugal and Italy, but two difficult and disappointing weekends have left his future in further doubt heading into what could be a potentially career-defining Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul this weekend.

With Albon’s seat at Red Bull potentially up for grabs, F1 Digital Editor Lewis Larkam and motorsport journalist Freddie Coates share their opinions for why Perez and Hulkenberg should be alongside Verstappen for 2021.
