King returns to F2 for 2019 season

Jordan King will return to the FIA Formula 2 Championship for the 2019 season after signing a deal with MP Motorsport.

King, 25, spent two years in GP2 before remaining in the category when it became F2 in 2017, but exited the series at the end of the year after landing a part-season IndyCar seat with Ed Carpenter Racing for 2018.

King will enter the 103rd Indianapolis 500 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in May, but will otherwise focus his racing commitments on F2 for 2019 after signing for MP Motorsport alongside Mahaveer Raghunathan.

“It is great to be working with and supporting the team at MP Motorsport again," King said.

"I only have good memories of working with everyone at MP and I’m delighted the team have put their trust in me to help them progress as much as possible – and I’m sure we’ll reach our full potential together."

King and Raghunathan's confirmation completes the F2 grid ahead of the opening round of the year in Bahrain next weekend.
