Ghiotto takes maiden F2 pole in Bahrain
Luca Ghiotto charged to his maiden Formula 2 pole position for the 2019 season-opener in Bahrain on Friday, edging out Louis Deletraz in the closing moments of qualifying.
Ghiotto managed to pull out three-tenths of a second on the field with his final effort in qualifying, turning in a final time of 1m40.504s to secure his first pole position in the category.

FIA FORMULA 2 BAHRAIN - QUALIFYING RESULTS
The result marked a debut pole for the UNI-Virtuosi team in F2, which took over the Russian Time operation for the 2019 season.
Deletraz was left to settle for P2 ahead of the experienced duo of Nyck de Vries and Nicholas Latifi, while British driver Jack Aitken took fifth after committing to an early final flying lap in qualifying.
Mick Schumacher will make his F2 debut from P10 on the grid on Saturday, while fellow Ferrari youngster Callum Ilott crashed out early in the session, leaving him 18th overall.
