Formula E confirms track layout tweak for Mexico
Formula E has confirmed it will tweak the layout at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for next month’s Mexico City E-Prix.
Formula E has raced at Mexico’s Formula 1 circuit since 2016, using a shortened version of the track that incorporates part of the start/finish straight and the Foro Sol stadium section.
The previous four runnings have all seen the drivers negotiate a tight chicane at Turn 1/2 before sweeping around part of the oval circuit for Turn 3, coming to a stop at another chicane before rejoining the F1 layout.

This year will see the removal of the first chicane in favour of a right-hander corner that leads onto the oval, with drivers then turning left for an additional three corners before coming back onto the permanent layout (Turn 10-11 on the F1 track).
The chicane midway through the Peraltada final corner has also been removed, meaning it now mirrors the F1 version.
Last year's Mexico City E-Prix proved to be one of the most dramatic and memorable races of the season as Lucas di Grassi snatched victory away from Pascal Wehrlein in the final few metres of the race as the Mahindra driver slowed to save energy.
The Mexico City E-Prix takes place on February 15 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
