"I would have liked them to still be in the fight.

"From my side of course it's also nice to win it in a more calm way.

"But I think what is good to see is already that they are very competitive this year compared to the last few years and I think that's what F1 needed."

Ricciardo considering offers but won’t “jump at the first seat available”

"My team is talking to pretty much everyone and they are having conversations. So we are just trying to put it all together and figure out what makes the most sense.

"So it’s not that they’re not interested, and while I’m not coming from a place of over confidence, we are just doing our due diligence and figuring out what’s best.

"Trying to see beyond next year, because for me I want be racing but also don’t want to be just looking at the next 12 months and not the next 24."

"A win would be ideal to break the Red Bull record and having that good momentum into next year."

"No, there’s not really much of an update. We’re still working through the script. I’ve been to LA. Not on this trip but the one before, sitting in Jerry’s [Bruckheimer] office and seeing Brad [Pitt]. We were going through the plot, which was pretty epic.

"This time we were on the set of an Eddie Murphy movie, which was really cool, getting to meet him." 

"100 percent we’ve learnt a huge amount about the car. It’s definitely a huge help knowing what the working window is and being able to predict where we are going.

"Luckily I was quite drugged up so I don't remember much of it. I remember going into surgery. Obviously, you don't understand time when you are sedated. It was more the impact of the people around me. When I did wake up, I thought the procedure was finished!" 

"It was more bed recovery to begin with. It's a tricky one as you're waiting for your lungs to recover so you can't jump back into normal training. It was Monday last week where we started to see what we could do. Day by day it was getting better and better, and we got to a point where recovery was going really well. We didn't truthfully have in mind Singapore but given the speed of the recovery, it was a possible thing."
