The KTM wildcard rider failed to run with high enough pressure in his front tyre.

The 37-year-old - who is MotoGP's most successful ever rider to have never won a championship - rolled back the years brilliantly this weekend at Misano, culminating in a P4 finish in Sunday's grand prix.

But, he then became the second rider to fall foul of the new tyre pressure regulation, receiving an official warning for his first offence of the year.

Last weekend, Maverick Vinales was given the same punishment as he became the first-ever rider to break the minimum tyre pressure threshold.

Like Vinales in Barcelona, Pedrosa keeps his P4 finish because his punishment was only an official warning.

A second offence from any rider would result in a three-second post-race time penalty. 

A third offence would be a six-second penalty, a fourth offence would be a 12-second penalty.

Riders must stay above the minimum tyre pressure, as set by Michelin, for at least 50% of a grand prix or 30% of a sprint race.
