While former team-mate Valentino Rossi has been unveiling his new Ducati in the snow-covered mountains of Madonna di Campiglio, reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo has flown to Indonesia as part of his Yamaha promotional duties.

Indonesia is one of the biggest markets in the world for small-capacity motorcycles.

Lorenzo won't return to Europe until after the first MotoGP test session of 2011, which takes place at Sepang, Malaysia, at the start of February.

"It gives me great pleasure that my fourth visit to Indonesia is also the first one as MotoGP World Champion and is a way to thank you all for the passion and the enthusiasm you have always showed to me," said Lorenzo.

"I will be spending my last (and only) winter holidays here in Indonesia until the first test of the season starts in Malaysia. I am sure I will have a great time here and especially some rest and time for training.

"Honestly, having seen such evidence of the passion of the Indonesian people for MotoGP, I truly hope that MotoGP comes back to Indonesia soon.

"While waiting for it, I will probably have to organize some clinics here for young riders so that the passion for riding rises more and more.

"Finally, I would like to thank Beti-san and Seto-san for their invitation to me and I would like to thank the Indonesian people for their warm welcome."

Ben Spies has replaced Rossi as team-mate to Lorenzo, although Yamaha is yet to announce a title sponsor following the departure of Fiat.
