Italian legends Valentino Rossi and Max Biaggi will meet on track for what could be the final time, during a forthcoming charity Supermoto race to benefit the Marco Simoncelli Foundation.

The endurance-style team event, which will also mark the opening of the new Latina circuit in Italy, will be held over 58 laps on the weekend of December 1-2. Practice and qualifying will take place on the Saturday, with the race on Sunday.

Four time 250GP and reigning double World Superbike champion Biaggi, who recently announced his retirement from racing, will be teamed with Adrien Chareyre.

Nine time world champion Rossi - whose on and off-track battles with Biaggi dominated the final season of 500cc and start of MotoGP - will ride alongside another multiple Supermoto champion, Thierry Van Den Bosch.

Biaggi was forced out of grand prix at the end of 2005, switching to WSBK at the start of 2007.

Rossi's 2013 replacement at the factory Ducati team, Andrea Dovizioso, is also taking part, while former grand prix racer Loris Capirossi is scheduled to perform a drifting display.

Other familiar names on an impressive entry list include Mattia Pasini, Michele Pirro, Simone Corsi, Michele Fabrizio, Danilo Petrucci, Karel Abraham, Luca Scassa and Andrea Iannone.
