Zarco cracks top ten, eager to try Ducati at more favourable Brno
Johann Zarco completed a solid brace of races with his run to ninth position in the Andalucia MotoGP but says he expects more from the Ducati when the 2020 MotoGP season moves onto the more favourable Brno in a weeks’ time.
Though niggling crashes hampered him again, Zarco came away from the Jerez back-to-back with an 11th and ninth place result, the latter proving Avintia Ducati’s best finish since Tito Rabat in Catalunya last season.
Feeling as though he is still missing a few tenths on the Ducati GP19, Zarco is now looking forward to round three in the Czech Republic where the bike is better suited to the fast, sweeping bends of Brno.
“A ninth position is always a good result to take. Compared last week, I got an improvement and still the race has been anyway difficult. I had a good feeling at the beginning, but few tenths was missing during three or four laps, defining the possibility to go on a low 39 or a high 38.
“This has been even a better race, I have to manage some mistakes that I did during the race that sometimes make you crash. I have finished in ninth position, the results are coming and giving all time the best is the only way to understand the things.
“It’s pretty good, now we are going to Czech Republic, I hope that I will take all this information and doing it even better in Brno. I think the Ducati will have some more advantages on a bigger track so I look forward to see our lever on Czech Republic.”
