Pol Espargaro: It'll be all or nothing from first to last corner

Valencia MotoGP pole qualifier Pol Espargaro has pledged not to hold anything back in pursuit of KTM glory in the final three rounds.

The Spaniard, leaving for Honda at the end of this season, is currently only eighth in the world championship and 47 points from the top, meaning he feels he has nothing to lose.

"We go for all or nothing," said Espargaro, who has taken four podiums for KTM but is yet to join Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira in standing on the top step.

"We have just three races remaining and we are only going to get a good championship position if we do three amazing races, which means putting a lot of risk on each of them to try to be in the best position at the end of the race.

"I cannot save anything back from the first to the last corner. Maybe this is going to cause me a crash during one of these three races remaining. But as I said, we can only do something very interesting in the championship through a good position in those last three races anyway.

"I don’t know Portimao because we never raced there, but we have a good chance here and I’m going to take it. Then next weekend as well. Let’s see how it goes."

Espargaro took pole position by just 0.041s from Suzuki's Alex Rins during the wet session, but Sunday is expected to be dry.

However, the lack of dry set-up time this weekend means Rins' title leading team-mate Joan Mir believes the KTMs could benefit even further from recent test data gathered at the track by Dani Pedrosa.
