Michele Pirro, a race winner in World Supersport and Moto2, has been Ducati's trusted MotoGP and Superbike test, wild-card and replacement rider since 2013.

Pirro has a best race finish of fourth in the premier-class, at Valencia 2018.

While he didn't score points during his three MotoGP appearances in 2022, his testing efforts played a part in Francesco Bagnaia's title glory
