Reigning champion Fabio Quartararo extends his lead at the head of the MotoGP world championship standings after a runner-up finish behind Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia at Mugello.

Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro remains second in the world championship, now 8 points from Quartararo, but Enea Bastianini's accident means he slips 28 points from the top.
