MotoGP Aragon - Race Results

Jorge Lorenzo claimed his first victory of the season in a chaotic Aragon MotoGP, which began on a dry track with rain arriving at the middle stages.

Lorenzo had battled with Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa for much of the race, but the Honda riders stayed out too long on slick tyres and fell!

By contrast Open class star Aleix Espargaro was one of the first to pit for his wet bike and was rewarded with a career best second place after just holding off Cal Crutchlow, who took his first Ducati podium.

Italians Andrea Iannone and later Valentino Rossi both had big accidents after running off track then falling early in the race. Rossi required a stretcher but was later seen sitting up before heading for the Medical Centre and some precautionary scans.
