Marquez and the likes of second-place Miller picked slicks for the end of the session, but conditions were very much borderline with the Australian falling on his last lap.
"It was too much risk!" Marquez admitted afterwards.
Zarco, who came through Qualifying 1, stuck with wet tyres - as did the likes of Italian veterans Rossi and Dovizioso.

Jorge Lorenzo is again absent after fractures to his vertebrae at Assen and replaced by HRC test and wild-card rider Bradl, while Suzuki test rider Guintoli has his latest wild-card entry.
