Vinales continues his strong weekend with pole position for this afternoon's Australian MotoGP, during a rescheduled qualifying at Phillip Island.

Q1 and Q2 were cancelled on Saturday due to strong winds and moved to Sunday morning.

Oliveira, whose big accident in FP4 prompted the end of yesterday's track action, was declared unfit to ride due to a lack of strength in his heavily bruised hands.

Fellow rookie Quartararo suffered an ankle injury on Friday, before returning to action on Saturday morning and progressing through Qualifying 1 to claim an excellent second on the grid.

World champion Marquez will complete the front row after another big save, this time at the fast Turn 1.

Rossi had his best qualifying since Silverstone, but home hero Miller (riding in a special livery) will be disappointed with ninth.

Zarco is making his MotoGP comeback this weekend, for LCR Honda in place of Nakagami, who is undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Frenchman, who will ride the team's 2018-spec RCV in the last three rounds of this season, comfortably outqualified Lorenzo.
