Q&A: Montoya, Newman and Edwards

Three top NASCAR drivers answer three quick questions about 2009 and the new season ahead...

Q:
What was the high point of 2009 for you and your team?
Juan Pablo Montoya:
Making the Chase. With where we started a year ago with our goals, it's incredible that we actually achieved everything we wanted to.
Ryan Newman:
The high point for us was making the Chase.
Carl Edwards:
Making the Chase. I was nervous that we weren't going to be able to make it. I was really nervous about that.

Q:
What was the low point during the year?
Juan Pablo Montoya:
There wasn't one. We kept getting better, more competitive, a little bit faster, and we saw that we could actually get the job done and be good everywhere.
Ryan Newman:
The low point was any time we pulled the truck into Talladega.
Carl Edwards:
Rolling under the chequered flag at Homestead and realising we hadn't won one race. That's tough. But I'm motivated more now than I was a year ago, so maybe there's something in that.

Q:
What's the number one item on your to-do list for 2010?
Juan Pablo Montoya:
If we could match the performance of this year, I'd say it would be a good year. Of course, we want more, but you've got to be realistic.
Ryan Newman:
Win a race. As much as I was happy to have the season over, I was disappointed because we hadn't won a race.
Carl Edwards:
The number one thing is to win a championship. We will go do whatever it takes in the first part of the season to make the Chase and at the end to win the championship. I'd do just about anything to win the thing.
