Excedrin Racing Team set sights on Nashville.
Todd Bodine and the No. 92 Herzog Jackson Motorsports team head to Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway this weekend for the running of the Pepsi 300 Presented by Kroger. Bodine raced in last year's inaugural event and finished 10th.
The Excedrin Racing team travelled to the 1.333-mile concrete track for two days of testing during the last week of March. The test gave Bodine and crew chief Tony Liberati the opportunity to work together in a more relaxed atmosphere and get a better understanding of how Bodine likes his Chevrolet Monte Carlo to handle on raceday.

The test gave Bodine and crew chief Tony Liberati the opportunity to work together in a more relaxed atmosphere and get a better understanding of how Bodine likes his Chevrolet Monte Carlo to handle on raceday.
'It was a great opportunity for the team and I to spend some time together,' said Bodine. 'I think Rambo and I were struggling a bit during our first few race days communicating with each other as far as how I liked the car to handle throughout the race. We would make a lot of changes and then seem to change everything we had just done. We just needed to work through things like that. Plus, it gave us the opportunity to shake the car down, which turned out great. The test was a success in a couple of different ways.'
The Herzog Jackson Motorsports team hopes this years trip to Nashville will be a little smoother than the last. An accident during qualifying for the 2001 event forced the team to go to the backup car for the race, and then an incident in the closing stages of the race, while the team was running in the 11th spot, ended the day early for the No. 92 team.
'The track has been ground down and now it's smooth and really fast,' commented Bodine. 'I didn't have a very good car there last year with my Busch team, but I feel really confident in the car the Excedrin team has prepared this year. I know we've got a car to beat here and I know that Rambo and I are on the same page. I'm looking forward to going back.'
This weekend at Nashville Superspeedway the Excedrin Racing team will utilise the same car they ran last season at both Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park and in the NASCAR Busch Series season finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. In those events, this Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo, known as HM-17, finished 14th and 17th respectively.
Todd Bodine and the Excedrin Racing team hope the extra time spent testing will allow them to sing a victory song come Saturday. They'll leave extra room on the team plane for the prestigious Gibson Guitar, Les Paul Edition, traditionally awarded to Nashville race winners.
