Star Wars fans, outfitted as Star Wars stormtroopers, stood guard at a Charlotte movie theatre today... but they weren't waiting in line for tickets to Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.

Instead, they helped NASCAR driver John Andretti unveil a special Star Wars paint scheme for the Cheerios No. 43 Dodge Intrepid commemorating the May 16 release of the epic film.

Andretti will race the Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones paint scheme at The Winston on May 18 and Coca-Cola 600 on May 26, both at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte.

"The Star Wars paint scheme is going to be one that's really unique and special for me because it's something so many people can relate to. From my childhood through my adulthood, Star Wars has been around for so long, it has truly endured time," said Andretti.

"It's exciting for me and it's exciting to be a part of it. And, obviously we are looking for some great things out of that racecar."

In addition to the Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones car, General Mills has created paint schemes representing the original Star Wars trilogy and Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Fans can check out the three different paint schemes and choose their favourite at www.starwars.cheeriosracing.com. Plus, select limitededition packages of Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey Nut Chex and Golden Grahams will feature a mail-in offer for all three collectible 1:64 die-cast Star Wars No. 43 cars.

In addition to the NASCAR excitement, General Mills has created a number of fun and exciting limited-edition Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones products.

With special-edition products in categories including cereal, yogurt and fruit snacks, innovative packaging and valuable premiums, General Mills is helping kids incorporate the magic of Star Wars into their daily routines.
