Miller Lite and Harley-Davidson team for Winston.

Rusty Wallace will be riding his Harley again on Saturday night, but it won't be the two-wheeled version that he has become somewhat a collector of.

In this case, it will be the "PC-36" Ford Taurus that Penske Racing South driver Wallace will be wheeling in Saturday night's The Winston "all star" race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The car that Wallace showed so much strength with last month at Texas Motor Speedway will be dressed up in a special Miller Lite/Harley-Davidson paint design.

The 2002 season marks the fourth straight year Miller Brewing Company and Harley-Davidson, two Milwaukee landmarks with legendary racing programs, are joined together in a program that features Miller Lite stock car driver Rusty Wallace.

"When Miller Brewing and Harley-Davidson got together, I thought it was the coolest program I've ever been involved with in my racing career - and I've been racing a long time," said Wallace. "Now that this has become an annual deal, I'm always excited about getting an awesome looking race car to race."

After the debut in Saturday's race under the lights at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Wallace and the Penske Racing team will also field the Miller Lite/Harley-Davidson stock car at Florida's Daytona International Speedway on July 6 and Michigan International Speedway on August 18.

Along with partnering at three stock car races, Miller Brewing Company and Harley-Davidson will also work together to promote responsibility at a number of motorcycle rallies across the USA, including events in Daytona Beach, FL and Sturgis, SD. Both companies will help dealers and distributors focus on responsible drinking and safe riding issues. In addition, both companies will prepare materials that can be used in conjunction with local activities and special events, including a poster featuring Miller Brewing's "Live Responsibly" message and Harley-Davidson's "Ride Straight" slogan.

Another element in the partnership is a special NASCAR-themed, custom-painted 2002 Harley-Davidson" Softail" that will be on display in the Miller Lite Racing Garage, a mobile display that will visit 25 auto racing events during the year. This ultimate racing experience, which combines the best features of a racing museum with the excitement of a popular bar, will be equipped with race car displays, auto racing memorabilia and simulators.

Miller Brewing Company and Harley-Davidson have worked together numerous times in the past. Last year, Wallace drove a special Miller Lite/Harley-Davidson at stock car races in Charlotte, Daytona Beach and Brooklyn, MI. Two years ago, Wallace drove a car featuring the brewery and motorcycle manufacturer at events in Daytona Beach, Bristol (TN) and Richmond. Three years ago, the two companies collaborated on a summer promotion that offered consumers an opportunity to win Harley-Davidson" motorcycles, and introduced a special limited-edition Miller Lite/Harley-Davidson design for the brewery's three racing teams. The two companies also worked together on the motorcycle manufacturer's 90th and 95th Anniversary Reunions in Milwaukee.

Wallace, the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup champion, has been driving a Miller Brewing Company-sponsored stock car since 1990. Heading into the 2002 season, Wallace has registered 54 victories and 35 pole positions during his NASCAR Winston Cup career. The 45-year-old driver, a winner of at least one race in 16 consecutive seasons (1986-2001), registered ten victories in 1993 and eight wins the following season (1994). In 1991, Wallace became a NASCAR team co-owner with Roger Penske and Don Miller when Penske Racing South was formed. He is currently fifth in the series' point standings.
