"The Peel out, Reel in and Win" car will launch CITGO's summer promotion that will run from Memorial Day weekend through the July Fourth holiday weekend.

"The Peel Out, Reel In & Win" CITGO Million Dollar Sweepstakes will give one lucky person a chance to win a million dollars or a brand new Roush Stage 3 Mustang," said Phillip Thompson, Manager Sports Marketing and Sponsor Development for CITGO. "We are combining our NASCAR and B.A.S.S. sponsorship efforts to create a contest that will be fun for fans. We want CITGO to be the fans stop for fuel, food and oil."
"I think CITGO has come up with a unique promotion," said driver Jeff Burton. "To marry NASCAR and B.A.S.S. like they are doing, is great. It's a fun contest and to have a chance to win a million dollars is awesome."
Burton hopes the paint scheme will bring the CITGO team a little luck as they attempt to continue their win streak at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Burton has won at Lowe's for the past three years. He is the defending champion of the Coca-Cola 600 and also won the race in 1999. In 2000 Burton won the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 Busch Series race.
"We have had success at this track before," said Burton. "It's a track that can change by the minute so a car that is fast at 6 o'clock may not necessarily be the car that is fast at 9 o'clock. We are using the same car we ran at the Winston last weekend and I think it's a decent car. We learned a lot last weekend and the CITGO team is prepared. Now it's just a matter of going out there on Sunday and biding our time. The Coca-Cola 600 is about being in the right place at the right time."
Burton's win at the 2001 Coca-Cola 600 was a turning point for the CITGO team last year. By the end of the season, Burton had moved to 10th in the overall Winston Cup point standings and chalked up two wins at Charlotte and Phoenix. The CITGO team is coming off a third-place finish at Richmond and a brilliant pit strategy maneuver that could have won them the race during the first round of The Winston were it not for clutch problems.
"Last year's 600 was a turning point for our team," said Burton. "We have not had the results we've wanted this year but we are learning and getting better each week. The CITGO team has been working hard and I think we have a great car heading into the 600."
Burton is hoping to peel out and into victory lane while reeling in a win at the Coca-Cola 600 this weekend. At the same time, fans can go to their local CITGO station [in the USA] for their chance to win a million dollars.
