Post race quotes - Ryan Newman.
"The win won't set in for quite a while, I'm sure, but one of the coolest parts as well as my Dad being here and being able to enjoy it with him, was when I got the chequered flag every driver came by and congratulated me. That means a lot.
"There are no enemies and it was gratifying for me that they congratulated me the way that they did. That's something that's special in a series like this that's so competitive to get a friendship that's so meaningful like that." - Ryan Newman

Ryan Newman "Conditions changed throughout the weekend. Everything was really nice on Friday and Saturday and for race day it was pretty wild. Luckily Matt (Borland, crew chief) and everybody on the team did an excellent job getting the car fast. We just had good pitstops and good track position. I told Matt there at the end we were definitely not the fastest car on the racetrack but it was one of those things where track position pays off. I was doing what I could to hold Kurt (Busch) behind me and then try to get around the 40 car (Sterling Marlin) and some of the other lapped cars at the same time. Everybody did a really nice job racing clean, especially Kurt."
KURT BUSCH SAID HE GAVE YOU A LITTLE TAP.
RN "That's what we've got mirrors for; I knew he was there, you know (laughs). Like I said he did a good job and I thought he got me there once between turns one and two. It was good, clean racing. The track is definitely tough to pass on and he had a faster race car but the fastest race car doesn't always win sometimes."
CAN YOU REFLECT ON ALL THAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED THIS WEEKEND AT NEW HAMPSHIRE?
RN"I said when we were here on Friday after qualifying that qualifying was one race and the race is another. It definitely proved that way. The weather played a big part no doubt, not only starting the race but the way it finished, which was definitely in our favour. To boost on lead in the Raybestos(R) Rookie points, to moving up to eighth in Winston Cup points, to get that track record, to leading the most laps, we pretty much conquered everything here this weekend. Next weekend could be a total invert so we'll just have to see how things go."
HOW MUCH LONGER COULD YOU HAVE HELD OF KURT BUSCH?
RN "It depends on how many times he hit me (laughs). That was the bottom line. If I was in the middle of the racetrack he wasn't going to get around me and that's what I was doing. I drove a pretty fast line that was defensive but I wasn't blocking him, at least I hope he didn't see that I was blocking him because I wasn't purposely doing it. It's one of those things where you run as hard as you can and put yourself in the position. The guys did a great job in the pits putting myself in position to win and from there on out it was my driving."
HAS THE WIN SUNK IN YET?
RN "The win won't set in for quite a while, I'm sure, but one of the coolest parts as well as my Dad being here and being able to enjoy it with him, was when I got the chequered flag every driver came by and congratulated me. DID THE TRACK CHANGE A LOT DURING THE RACE?
RN "It didn't seem to change a whole lot. I think the biggest change was from yesterday to today. Because of the cloudiness the track was a little bit tighter from the start. That was something that was kind of good for us to be out front there at the beginning because we were a little bit tight when we had clean air."
