"A Decade at the Brickyard" will trace the popular event from the historic first race in 1994, won by Jeff Gordon, to a behind-the-scenes coverage of the 2003 Brickyard 400, won by Kevin Harvick. The DVD will incorporate all of the colourful Brickyard 400 images that only the "Racing Capital of the World" could produce. Thanks to the gifted storytelling of NASCAR broadcast veteran Ken Squier, fans will enjoy an unprecedented presentation of Brickyard history.
"It is our intention to take our viewers well beyond the Brickyard 400 experience they normally enjoy on race day," said Jay Abraham, CEO, NASCAR Images. "With 'A Decade at the Brickyard,' our growing fan base will have the world's best garage pass without having to leave the comfort of their living room."
"A Decade at the Brickyard" is an officially licensed product of NASCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The product will first be distributed through SMG's direct distribution system with advertisements directing customers to call (800) 856-4266 or to purchase online at SportsDVDHeadquarters.com.
This will be the second DVD about an Indianapolis Motor Speedway event released by SMG, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based home entertainment company. SMG and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions announced May 22 a marketing agreement for the sales and distribution of home DVD and video products featuring the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The first release in that partnership is "Indianapolis 500: The 60's," a DVD that includes video highlights, special interviews and rare, never-before-seen archival footage of that special time in motorsports history.
