Major changes at Petty Enterprises.

In the midst of another dire season, NASCAR's most famous team, Petty Enterprises, have had a major shake-up prior to this weekend's Sirius at the Glen that will result in both Jeff Green and Kyle Petty having new crew chiefs.

Sitting 32nd (Petty) and 34th in the overall Nextel Cup standings and already eliminated from the inaugural 'Chase for the Championship,' Green's 14th place effort last Sunday in the Brickyard 400 was the best result for the team founded by 'The King' Richard Petty since his son Kyle finished 12th at Las Vegas in March.

Beset by underpowered and unreliable engines and unable to find a satisfactory set-up over long distances, Petty's #45 crew chief Greg Steadman will now move to Green's #43 team along with two other team members while Green's former crew-chief, Gary Putnam, has left the team.

Road course specialist Garth Finley will crew-chief for Petty's #45 team this weekend at Watkins Glen before Kyle, who will also make his 700th career NASCAR Cup start on Sunday, announces a permanent replacement ahead of next weekend's trip to the Michigan International Speedway.
