After making their NASCAR debut with Gordon's NASCAR Busch Series team last year, the world renowned clothing firm will sponsor Gordon's new #7 ride in nine Nextel Cup races and the Busch Series season opener at Daytona in February.
Gordon has four sponsors, who will all provide primary backing for nine races this year and will formerly announce the remaining three during the build-up to the February 20th Daytona 500. The first race on Fruit of the Loom's programme is the April 3rd Food City 500 at the Bristol Motor Speedway.
"RGM gave us an exciting ride last season and we're confident that same level of commitment will help fuel our advance into the NEXTEL Cup Series," said Randy Koedyker, senior vice president of sales for Fruit of the Loom.
Gordon, who recently celebrated his 36th birthday, is expected to make the 200th Cup Series start of his career later this year at Kansas Speedway. He has three wins, including a sweep of both road-course events in 2003, won the Gatorade 125 Daytona 500 qualifying race in 2003 and has banked more than $15 million in NASCAR winnings.
