Kevin Harvick and the #29 Richard Childress Racing team will compete in this weekend's Dickies 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway with heavy hearts after Harvick's father-in-law John Paul Linville passed away earlier this week.
Linville (62), who had been ill for some time, died on Tuesday and while both Harvick and his crew chief Todd Berrier have lost a close friend, both with race on this weekend.

The father of Harvick's wife DeLana was a racer himself, with 136 Busch Series starts to his name including three top ten efforts between 1985 and 1990. Most recently he worked for Harvick's own NASCAR team, Kevin Harvick Inc.
