Petty gets partial sponsor.

Nextel Cup veteran Kyle Petty has secured Wells Fargo as a primary sponsor for his #45 team in 2006 as he continues to seek replacement funding for the loss of former sponsor Georgia-Pacific.

Petty, who will have 2000 Nextel Cup Champion Bobby Labonte as a teammate for 2006, has stated his intention to run a full 36 race Nextel Cup season with or without full primary sponsorship.

The graduation of Wells Fargo from associate to primary sponsor for the team is also an indicator that Petty Enterprises are slowly clawing their way back from Nextel Cup obscurity.

For Kyle, who has poured heart and soul into getting the once famous team back on track, the Wells Fargo deal represents at least a small slice of justice as the hard road back continues.
