Biffle: Victory sets us up for '07.
Despite his third straight win at Homestead being lost amongst the hubbub surrounding Jimmie Johnson's maiden Nextel Cup triumph, Greg Biffle insists that it is a sign of things to come from the #16 team.
Like Tony Stewart before him in the final ten races of the season, Biffle admitted that not having the pressure of being in the Chase for the Championship allowed to go all out for victory, his second of the year. However, he revealed that the yellow flag periods towards the end of the race gave him cause for concern.

However, he revealed that the yellow flag periods towards the end of the race gave him cause for concern.
"I tell you what, I was nervous as could be," he said, "I was scared that I wasn't gonna be able to hold those guys off, but this Ford Fusion race car is just so awesome. Doug and everybody did a great job on it, but I was nervous - and really nervous about the #1. He was getting a good start, laying back on me, so I'm pretty excited to hold them off."
The victory, he said, was for sponsor National Guard and crew chief Doug Reichert, both of whom leave the #16 car next season.
"I just want to thank all of the National Guard - this win is for those guys," he said, "We really love them and we're gonna miss them next year. We appreciate what they do for our country and we're really thinking about them.
"I love Doug too - we're good friends, [but] we just didn't hit it off like we needed to. Next year, we're hoping to bring good things with Pat [Tryson], while Doug will find a home here at Roush. He's a good guy and he's gonna be crew chiefing another championship team."
Despite the personnel shuffle, Biffle remains confident that he can come out firing in 2007.
"This sets us up for next year, it really does," he insisted, "It does a lot for us, but there's no rest for us. We're going to test Las Vegas the 6-7 December and we're ready to get going on next year already."
