Nemechek looking for that ol' New Hampshire magic.

Joe Nemechek is looking forward to his return to a happy hunting ground this weekend, as the NASCAR Nextel Cup heads to the New Hampshire International Speedway for round 17 of the 2007 campaign.

The 43-year-old has established a special relationship with the 1.058-mile oval over the years, and is banking on his past successes at the New England venue to get his #13 car in contention for victory in Sunday's LENOX Industrial Tools 300.

"I feel very confident every time I enter the grounds at New Hampshire," the Ginn Racing ace remarked. "When you win at a track you always feel you can do it again, and no matter how many times I have competed at New Hampshire since winning there, my high confidence level has never wavered."

Known as the Magic Mile, New Hampshire International Speedway was the site of Nemechek's maiden Cup win in September, 1999. He also posted a runner-up finish at NHIS in July, 2000 and claimed a Busch Series race there, defeating Dale Earnhardt Sr. in a hotly contested duel back in 1992.

"I just feel comfortable at New Hampshire," he confirmed. "It will be a great opportunity for us to turn the tide this weekend. We have not had good results the past two weekends in Michigan (30th) and Sonoma (38th). I will be looking for some d?j? vu on Sunday."

In the 2006 race at NHIS, Nemechek was running solidly inside the top five before being unfortunately collected in an accident two-thirds of the way through.

"We were struggling going into the event last year but made a nice rebound before I got caught up in a wreck," he explained. "Hopefully New Hampshire will once again give us the right medicine to overturn our recent problems.

"We're not that far off - it's the little things that have been hurting us. We just need to get on a roll, and once we do I am confident we will stay there."
