Truex's team secures Glen Pit Crew win.

Martin Truex's #1 over-the-wall crew tallied its first Checkers/Rally's Double Drive-Thru Challenge win of the season by spending the least amount of time on pit road during Sunday's road-course event at Watkins Glen International.

The Bass Pro Shops team, out of the Dale Earnhardt Inc. stable, spent 87.729 seconds on pit road during the 90-lap race at the 2.45-mile track.

"This is a different team from last year's pit crew and they've really begun to mesh in the last few weeks," said Walt Smith, pit crew coordinator for Dale Earnhardt Inc.

"When we put the final piece in the puzzle a couple of months ago, the results started to show. The performance they gave on pit road in Watkins Glen was a showcase of what's been coming over the past weeks."

"These guys have really started to gel and, fortunately for us, they're starting to gel at the right time with the Chase coming up. I couldn't be happier about their performance," Smith added.

Truex's over-the-wall crew will be presented with an $11,000 cheque by Checkers/Rally's for winning the weekly challenge. An additional $111,150 prize will be presented to the pit crew with the most wins at the completion of the 36-race Nextel Cup schedule.

The #1 crew includes: Jeff Kerr (jackman), Ryan Buscaglio (front-tyre carrier), Dave Collin (front-tyre changer), Mark Kennerly (rear-tyre carrier), Coleman Dollarhide (rear-tyre changer), Preston Cordell (gasman), Mark Purvis (catch can) and Haskell Lavalette (eighth-man). Cherry and Bob Pressley are the pit crew coaches. The crew chief is Kevin Manion.

For the record, Mark Martin's/Regan Smith's #01 crew leads the season-long Checkers/Rally's Double Drive-Thru Challenge standings with four wins.

To win, teams are required to finish on the lead lap while spending the least amount of time on pit road. Checkers/Rally's is in its third season as title sponsor for the Pit Crew Challenge.
