Petty ruled out for Michigan.

Kyle Petty has been ruled out of this weekend's 3M Performance 400 at the Michigan International Speedway after injuring his hand last weekend at Watkins Glen.

Petty is believed to have sustained the injury after punching his trailer in frustration at having to retire from last weekend's race at Watkins Glen.

The veteran driver, who missed five races earlier this year when he stepped into the commentary booth for TNT, is expected to miss just one race despite x-rays showing that he had broken his hand and will be replaced in the #45 Dodge this weekend by Chad McCumbee.
