Busch's team wins Michigan Pit Crew Challenge.

Kurt Busch's over-the-wall crew had two reasons to celebrate when they left Michigan International Speedway Tuesday.

Not only did Busch win the rained-delayed NEXTEL Cup event, but his #2 Penske Racing crew also took top honours in the weekly Checkers/Rally's Double Drive-Thru Challenge.

"Just like I said after the race, this win was indeed a total team effort and for my guys to win the Checkers/Rally's Double Drive-Thru Challenge is very fitting," said Busch, whose win was his 17th overall career victory and second at MIS.

"They keep on getting better and better and, just like our entire programme, we are showing the great consistency that a championship-calibre team needs."

"The guys were awesome out on pit road and this award is the icing on the cake for a great race win," added crew chief Pat Tryson. "They were flawless on a day where it seemed every other team faced problems. I'm so proud of our guys for winning the Checkers/Rally's award and we look forward to getting our picture made with the big cheque."

Busch's over-the-wall crew will be presented with an $11,000 cheqie by Checkers/Rally's for winning the weekly challenge. An additional $111,150 prize will be presented to the pit crew with the most wins at the completion of the 36-race Nextel Cup schedule.

The #2 crew, which spent 206.320 seconds on pit lane, includes: Ray Gallaghan (jackman), David Littau (front-tyre carrier), Jay Hackney (front-tyre changer), Larry Robinett (rear-tyre carrier), Travis Johnson (rear-tire changer), Chris Williams (gasman), Steve Williams (catch can) and Dustin Coonfield (eighth man).

The #01 crew leads the season-long Checkers/Rally's Double Drive-Thru Challenge standings with four wins.
