Chase Elliott brought the Elliott name back to victory lane at Talladega Superspeedway following a late surge past Joey Logano. The win is the first for the Elliott family at the 2.66-mile superspeedway since Chase’s father Bill won in 1987 and 1985.
A late surge propelled Chase Elliott to the win in the Geico 500’s second stage. The race's second 55 lap stage began with Daniel Suarez taking the lead on pit road ahead of Alex Bowman. Bowman took the lead from Suarez with teammates Elliott and Byron rearing him the next seven leps.
Ty Dillon conserved enough fuel to win the opening 55-lap stage of the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Polesitter Austin Dillon found himself a sitting duck as a train of Team Penske Fords led by Brad Keselowski railroaded him at the front.

Austin Dillon rebounded from a technical infraction in practice to celebrate his 29th birthday on a high by putting his No. 3 Dow Chevrolet on the pole for tomorrow’s Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Denny Hamlin made a comeback from two penalties during the day to take the win in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.
A gas-and-go pitstop elevated Denny Hamlin to the win in Stage 2 at Texas. Stage 1 winner Joey Logano brought the field down pit road but lost the lead to Kyle Busch by way of a two-tire pit stop.
