Jeremy McWilliams not ruling out NW200 return

Former Grand Prix star Jeremy McWilliams has hinted he my return to the North West 200 this year to compete in the Supertwin 650 class at the international road race.

McWilliams made his road racing debut at the event in 2012 when he finished as the runner-up behind Ryan Farquhar in the Supertwin race.

The veteran racer, who manages the World Supersport Rivamoto Honda team, achieved the feat on one of Farquhar's KMR Kawasaki machines and may line up again to bid for honours in May.

Farquhar has retired from motorcycle racing following the death of his uncle in an accident at the Manx Grand Prix last August.

However, he will still run his Kawasaki outfit on the roads this season and McWilliams hasn't ruled out having another bite at the cherry.

The Belfast News Letter reported that McWilliams, speaking at the Adelaide Motorcycle Awards in Belfast, said: "It was almost a surreal experience last year and I was more nervous on the day of the race than I probably ever have been throughout my whole career.

"I haven't made a decision on whether or not I'll go back again this year but it's something I have to decide."

McWilliams and Farquhar are competing in a classic race meeting at Phillip Island in Australia this weekend along with Steve Brogan.
