TT 2015: Hillier: We pulled it out of the bag
James Hillier produced his best ever performance in the premier class at the Isle of Man TT to clinch a stunning runner-up finish behind John McGuinness in the feature PokerStars Senior race.
Hillier also joined the exclusive 132mph club after posting his fastest lap ever on the final circuit on the Quattro Plant Kawasaki at 132.414mph to steal second place from PBM Kawasaki's Ian Hutchinson.
The Bournemouth rider, who finished as the runner-up earlier in the day in the Lightweight race, said: "I just dug deep and pushed and tried to meet all the markers. It's overwhelming and I'm just made up, more so for the whole team because they worked hard this week.
"It was a massive team effort and I can't believe it. I was riding the twin this morning and I didn't feel quite at home - I much prefer the big bikes and I think that's showing.
"We're where we want to be now and we're back at the front but absolutely hat's off to John McGuinness there - he rode some race," Hillier added.
"The race pace this week had it all and it's been crazy and the whole barrier has just been moved up now. We weren't probably really on the radar before the TT but we definitely pulled it out of the bag in race week and we've had a cracking week."
Hillier also finished on the podium in the RST Superbike race behind winner Bruce Anstey and Ian Hutchinson.
