Elliott set for TT bow on peoplesbike.com Kawasaki
Accomplished Irish road racer Seamus Elliott will make his debut at the Isle of Man TT this year after linking up with the peoplesbike.com team.
The Ballymoney man will ride a Kawasaki ZX-10R in the Superbike, Superstock and Senior races at the legendary festival.
Elliott - a regular top six contender at the Irish National road races - impressed last season as he won the opening Supersport race at the Southern 100 before finishing 2015 with a series of outings on Wilson Craig's Honda machines, taking eighth in the Supersport class and tenth in the main Superbike race, lapping at 128.297mph.
Run by the enthusiastic Mark Cubbon, the peoplesbike.com team has previously competed at the TT with a number of leading competitors including Steve Mercer, Dan Hegarty, Stephen Thompson and, more recently, Ireland's Alan Bonner.
"We've been trying to get over to the TT races for a few years so it's brilliant that it's finally come together," said Elliott.
"I've now got this chance, particularly with a team as strong as the Peoples Bike who know the Island and what you need to do to run a proper campaign.
"I've started to learn the course and I was over on the Isle of Man at the weekend with the rider liaison officers, which really got me excited for the races and I just want to repay the faith that the team has in me."
The peoplesbike.com team, established in 2009, is partly funded by fans, who pay to have their picture painted on the bike's fairings. Contributors also receive an open invitation to visit the team's awning during the TT to enjoy a cup of tea and chat to the team in return for their support.
