Dunlop dominant on home patch at Armoy
Michael Dunlop's incredible run of form continued as the Ulster road racer won both Superbike races at his home meeting at Armoy.
Dunlop maintained his majestic record in the feature 'Race of Legends' showdown, which he won for the sixth consecutive year on his MD Racing BMW.
The 27-year-old beat Derek Sheils by 4.5 seconds in the big race of the day, with his brother William completing the podium positions on the MMB Yamaha R1.
Earlier, 13-time Isle of Man TT winner Dunlop won the Open Superbike race from Sheils, with William again filling the top three.
The Ballymoney man has been in formidable form this year on his BMW machinery, setting a new lap record on his way to victory in the Superbike race at the North West 200 and chalking up a Superbike and Senior double at the TT, where he also established a new outright lap record of 133.962mph in June.
Dunlop then dominated with a Superbike four-timer at the Southern 100 prior to his annual outing at Armoy, setting him up perfectly for the MCE Ulster Grand Prix at Dundrod from August 10-13.
His older brother William also impressed at Armoy, winning both Supersport races on his Yamaha R6 and claiming the man of the meeting accolade with two podiums in the Superbike events.
