Seven-time champ Venegas heads field.

Seven time Speedway ICE Racing World Champion CHARLIE "THE EDGE" VENEGAS, from San Bernadino, CA, heads up a strong field of riders competing for this years ICE Nitro Speedway Bike National Championship Title. The event will take place December 17th at 7:30PM in The Arena In Oakland, Oakland, CA.

Thirty-eight year old Venegas, the winningest rider in the history of the sport, will see stiff competition from the likes of 2005 Rookie of the Year Charlie Cooley from Corona, CA; former Rookie of the Year Tyler Hansen from Missoula, MT; recently crowned Under 21 National Champion Skyler Greyson from Laguna Hills, CA; veteran ice racers Eddie Martinez from Tucson, AZ; Bill "The Ice Man" Hermant from Sparks, NV; John "Mountain Man: Grant from Georgetown, CA; Colorado's Cal Harrington and "Bounc'n" Bobby Richards to name a few.

The Speedway ICE Racing National Championship is one of the premier events of the 30th Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series schedule. This event will also be Round One in the points chase to decide this years overall Nitro Speedway Bike World Champion.

Some of the other 2006 Nitro Speedway Bike WC Points Rounds will be held at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada on January 26th, Prince George, British Columbia, Canada on January 29th and Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada on January 31st.
