The Newcastle promotion were proud to announce the signing of young Scottish prospect Adam McKinna, son of Scottish International rider Kenny McKinna. Adam comes in as the required grade-C reserve along side the Diamonds grade-A reserve Jamie Robertson.

Adam has guested for the Diamonds briefly last year, and surprised everyone with his outstanding performance, showing a lot of skill for a lad so young. The 19-year-old was revealed as Newcastle sixth signing at the club's christmas party last night with the general feeling around the room, that with one more remaining rider to be revealed, the 2006 Diamonds are looking to be one of the strongest looking teams in the forthcoming league.
Team manager George English said:"There is no doubt that the feel-good factor is well and truely back with Newcastle Speedway and with the inclusion of young Adam McKinna, one of the most professionally turned out teenagers in the country, it's not unrealistic to suggest that we are on for one very exciting and successful season come March.
"We still have one more rider to announce and it is hoped that this completley new rider to the club could well be revealed before christmas depending on how negotiations progress."
